A Truck Photographer’s Diary, Vol. 65–World of Large Cars 2008 Truck Show, is a CD photo album featuring photos of the First Annual World of LargeCars Truck Show held in Carlinville, Illinois.
The 253 photos were taken by author David A. Bontrager and Anna Bontrager.
The show was small but some of the coolest trucks were present. This was indeed an elite truck show. Instead of judging each entrant was given a nice plaque, which gave everyone time to socialize, which is what truck shows are all about. It should be noted that with the exception of Mickey Gwillim’s Peterbilt and Kenworth all of the trucks present are working trucks.
The show was hosted by Mickey and Scott Gwillim of Gwillim Trucking in Carlinville. The album begins with photos of Mickey Gwillim’s 359 Peterbilt and W900A Kenworth, and then the other trucks follow. The album finishes with several miscellaneous photos of Gwillim Trucking.
The images are in pristine condition and will view excellently on screen. A few may be slightly less than perfect, but I feel the historic value of the trucks shown out weighs the technical aspects of the photo.
