A Truck Photographer’s Diary, Vol. 32–Cool Rides 15, is the fifteenth in a series of CD photo albums featuring photos of cool trucks.
All of the 150 photos were taken in Effingham, Illinois in 2007 by author, David A. Bontrager. Dave is well-known for his classic and unique images of trucks from the 1950s through the present day. This is an excellent sampling of his private collection of truck photos.
The album includes four sections: 1. Flatbeds and step deck flats, 63 photos; 2. Lowboys, 23 photos; 3. Dry vans and reefers, 37 photos; 4. Tractor only views, 27 photos.
Times have changed for getting good photos of trucks in truck stops due to the tight parking, making it extremely difficult getting clean views. All of the photos in this album are action shots, with most being close-up views. Thanks to high-technology digital SLR cameras all of the photos are beautiful clean shots with a nice background.
The images are in pristine condition and will view excellently on screen. A few may be slightly less than perfect, but I feel the historic value of the trucks shown out weighs the technical aspects of the photo.
