Burlington Northern
Coal Country & Other Action
Photographer, Author, and Editor: David A. Bontrager

  • Burlington Northern – Coal Country & Other Action, Vol. 80, is a CD photo album featuring action photos of the Burlington Northern at various locations in the West.  The circa of the photos is the late-1980s to mid-1990s.
  • Most of the photos on this CD feature coal trains in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming, or coal trains in Nebraska, Colorado, and New Mexico, either coming from or returning to the Powder River Basin.  The remaining photos are miscellaneous action photos taken in Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, and Montana.
  • The author liked the Burlington Northern and its heritage, especially the green and black years on the BN, but after the merger with Santa Fe it just wasn’t the same anymore; a change that the author never accepted.
  • His favorite locomotives were the EMD SD40-2 and GE C30-7, and both are well represented in this photo album.
  • The images are in pristine condition and will view excellently on screen.  A few may be slightly less than perfect, but I feel the historic value of the trains shown outweighs the technical aspects of the photo.
  • Pages may be printed for personal non-commercial use only – not for public distribution by any manual, mechanical or electronic means.
  • Custom enlargements and posters are available directly from the author.  All custom enlargements and posters are professionally printed on Premium Heavyweight Gloss Photo Paper.  Not all photos may be available as individual prints, but most are.  Email inquiries to: sales@fatjacksplace.com or dabontrager@yahoo.com
